Summer solstice day is an event in Spain which is not to be missed. It’s called El Dia de San Juan or St John’s Day.
It’s the longest day of the year and we celebrated with the traditional bonfires and guitar playing on the beach. It marked the beginning of summer and for surfers the prospect of warmer waters and evening surf sessions until 22:30 at night!
It really is an experience to be out in the line up watching the sun go down while you catch the last waves of the day! After a late session they continued to eat and drink, the prawns in spinach and cheese were a hit, as were the cocktails!!
